YAY CAMBODIA!!

Hey Everybody!!

So, we are headed to Cambodia in 5 days and 12 hours! Not that we're counting or anything! :-) So our plane leaves on Wednesday at 9:40am at the DFW Airport. We will get there around 7:30am to check in, if you want to come see us off, you are welcome! Just let me know!

So, it's FINALLY happening! :-) We are so pumped and AMAZED by Gods faithfulness! We ran in to a few things that made our trip to Cambodia seem impossible! 4 weeks before we were supposed to leave for Cambodia, I was struck with some rediculous teeth pain! Once we got home to Texas, we saw a dentist and were told we needed a $1500 root canal. Then, a few days later, Chris was hit with severe tooth pain! So when it was all said and done, we needed over $3,000 in work! We still didn't have the funds in for airfare or the rest of our tuition! EEEK! That is scary! The coolest part is, you get to fully depend on the Lord in those sort of situations! We prayed and prayed and knew that God still wanted us to go to Cambodia but just wanted us to take care of these issues before we were in Cambodia and had no way of dealing with them!! So yes, I am saying our teeth pain was a blessing! Lol

So as of New Years eve (2 weeks before our date to leave) we still lacked our Airfare, dental and half of our monthly support! I was starting to believe we were crazy and should just give up...and wouldn't you believe...GOD STEPS IN! Right when it's too big for us, he shows us who our Dad is! We received enough support in 8 days to cover our airfare, dental, and 2/3 of the remainder of our tuition! PRAISE THE LORD!! Goodness, how could you have a doubt in your mind about where you are called when that sort of thing happens! I felt like it was VERY important to post this story, mainly to bring God Glory. That, after all, is why he does that! And to spoil his children of course! So be encouraged! If you ever feel like your hopes and dreams are HUGE, and sometimes too big for you, remember that it isn't you who can do it. Most of the time, God will call us to things that put us WAY out of our comfort zone, and in situations that we, ourselves cannot handle alone. That way, we lean on him and learn to have real faith, hope, love, perseverance, patience, and all of the characteristics of the spirit! So don't lose hope, trust in the one who gives hope!

So enough of my rambling! We will be overseas in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from January 13th-April 16th. While we are there, we will be updating our blog in short segments every few days! We are hoping to update with insight on what our day to day life is like, new adventures, thoughts, things God is teaching us, and how you can pray for the children and families we meet! We will need intercession from you, our supporters. We need people crying out for Gods power and presence in Phnom Penh! For people to receive dreams, visions, and words from the Lord. For God to prepare their hearts and that HE would be the reason they choose Him. Not us! We are just the hands and feet, and anything you hear about movements or house churches planted, will not be as a result of our effort, but because of the power of the Holy Spirit! Woo hoo Im getting excited just typing about it! I hope that you have the same excitement and that you realize what a part you play in Gods Mission!

We are still excepting support and are trying to get it all settled before we leave on Wednesday! We would ask that you pray and ask the Lord if He wants you to support us. He knows how he wants you to participate in His work, and He will guide you on that decision! We are still lacking about $600/month, and about $800 for tuition. We will have bills to support back in the states, and expenses for rent, utilities, travel, food, and for any ministry expenses. If you are interested in supporting us, view the info below:
