So, since Monday morning I have been sick! Monday was our free day and we went to A Plus Cafe for lunch and I started getting sick. Out of pure determination...I kept on truckin! I couldn't figure out why I was so tired and crabby. We would do a couple things and I would be exhausted! When we got home...I was SPENT! Almost fell asleep in the shower! Fell asleep early! Tuesday was our first day of hairschool! I was REALLY tired after. Made it through dinner, then went upstairs and watched SoA for a couple hours! Went to sleep, woke up with horrible stomach cramps and felt worse. Layed in bed. Cancelled class. Started feeling better...decided to eat nachos...fell asleep at 8:30pm. Woke up at 10am feeling just as bad! lol. Gabi and Sue prayed for me and that I would get better and be able to teach class! Gabi encouraged me that the Holy Spirit could fill me and supernaturally give me the strength to teach class! So that gave me HOPE!! :-) I went into class fully confident that I would make it, and I DID! Praise the Lord! Today (Friday) I woke up feeling like Meghan again! YAY! I was beginning to think I was just crazy, lazy, and crabby! lol.
I have been praying a lot that God would give me insight like never before and use me. To not let me get in the way...with the way I invision how he wants to reach his people. But for him to just use me. I have been praying that just in every day to day life, I will hear him, deeply. Intrinsically. That it wouldn't neccisarily be a "i heard a voice" type of hear...but a deep stirring of my spirit. That He would give me His heart for His people. That people will see a difference in us here. That our selfish desires, motives and pride would be dead and his spirit ALIVE in us. That what He has done for us, will be a reality and bring such Joy that we just naturally share it with the people we love. That His Holy Spirit would anoint every move we make. That He would supernaturally speak to the people here. The He would comfort the girls in my class! That He would protect them from evil. That he would create deep relationships with them. That He would bring healing, restoration and FREEDOM!! :-)
So...on another note...I had a really awesome dream last night! :-) It is VERY much a Meghan dream! Lol. Ok so I had a dream that one day, I was doing normal day to day things...and I wanted mint chocolate ice cream. So all of a sudden I just knew to say "Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream" and pointed my finger and it appeared right in front of me on the table. I couldn't believe it actually worked! I started testing it and at one point I had 5 desserts in front of me! Every once in a while I would forget that I had this awesome gift...then I would remember that I could do this and be WAY excited again. At one point me and my 2 friends were sitting at a round table and it occurred..."Oh my gosh...check this out guys! 'Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream (I point at the table).'" It appeared and they were AMAZED! I let them taste it and they got even more excited! It was so cool. In the dream, or maybe even in half consciousness...I realized the confidence I was gaining in this new gift. I would ask and it was there every time. The first few times I thought it was too good to be true! Then I would try again and it would happen! My joy would grow each time it happened! Towards the end of the dream I just knew what I asked for would be given! Not in a selfish way. But that the blessing was there, the cool awesome gift was there...too good to be true or not...it was there! I had no doubts...just thankfulness and joy. I feel like that was from the Lord. Yes, your thinking, MEGHAN...ITS ICE CREAM..But, I think that is just got speaking to me through my homesickness! Lol.
I feel like He is telling me that we are given the things we ask for, freely. He has NOTHING to hold back. So I ask for salvation, restoration, and healing in each person you have that I will meet! That all six of the girls in my class: Giang, Hang, Hen, Loan, Tuyen, Phuong would know Him in the most DEEP, REAL way ever. That He will love them DEEPLY. That I will not limit Him, but expect nothing but Miracles. I was thinking about this last night...sometimes when I meet people with a really hard situation, or they are REALLY wounded, I feel too small to make a difference in their life. So rather than HOPING for them, and what God will do in their life...I lessen my expectionations and almost settle with the way they are. Now...this is WAY different than loving them where they are. That is what we are to do! Love people fully, with the love of Jesus and hope for them. Pray for them. I just think about the people in my life from the time I was born until now...who loved me fully, despite all of my weaknesses. They loved me even more during the most painful times in my life. They hoped for me. They hoped for the day that I would accept the freedom of Christ. The day that I would explore my relationship with Jesus. For the day that I would be healed of generational curses and wounds. They didn't write me off as the poor girl who was lost and a little needy! Ha! They prayed and HOPED! Genuinely hoped. Knowing that one day, those prayers would be answered. And until that day, they loved me and walked with me every step of they way! Actually, if your reading this, you are probably one of those people. Whether you meant to or not, or realize it or not. This love is what I am hoping for in Cambodia. This is what I want to pass on the the people I meet here.
So Today, I am INSPIRED! I hope you are too! Give God your requests, He will most likely surprise you! Have a loved one that really need His love, ask. Of course, we don't know the timing or God's will. But we do know that these are God's desire. God is the one who wants His children to seek Him. He will give. Freely. So, thanks God for this AWESOME dream...who knew that such depth could be spoken through Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream!! :-)
Gotta love it! Peace
Meg

And Classes Start!!!
Welp, Today is the first day of Classes! Me and Meghan ran around yesterday trying to get the last of all the stuff that we needed, it was quite an adventure! Its really different to not really have a central store to go to, if I was in the states, it would have been one or two trips for the supplies, but not in Cambodia, this land does not have a Walmart... hahha.. kinda glad about that. The markets are huge and mostly indoors, which makes it pretty hot! You can find anything there, they literally have just about everything that you could possibly be looking for, from rice to to plumbing parts, from watches to motorcycle engines. Its nice to have everything in one place, but if you have no idea where to look for what you want, it makes everything that your looking for another long search around the market. Bartering is another entry, maybe after I get a little better at it. Also Im working on a video so you can all see what going to the market means! So for this week, please be praying for Meghan as she starts the hair school, pray that communication will come easy as she is working through a translator, and that she will be easily able to teach hair, but also more about Jesus! Also as English class and Art class start this week, pray that God will bring the children, and that we can build awesome relationships with them. We love all you guys soooo much and miss ya!

I dont know what anything is called, but hopefully you can tell how good it was based on the pictures! When I come home, I might attempt it for you?! But I probably wont be able to find a freshly butchered fish...oh well! When I told Trang and Yu that story...they about died laughing! Great times! Anyway, get ready to be jealous as you stare at this AMAZING CUISINE! :-) Love you all!

"We Love it Here"
Let the adventure begin:
Lets start with Wednesday night: Me and Chris are walking down Sihanouk Blvd on our way home from Lucky Supermarket (A surprisingly awesome supermarket with lots of western food…if you can eat gluten…but no worries, I found chocolate milk and ice cream!) I said to Chris, “Goodness, I love this place!! There are people everywhere, lots of family businesses, and $2 dollar movies…how could we not like this place?” …Chris says…”well of course you love this place! We haven’t had anything happen that would make us not love it here.” There goes my pragmatic husband!! Not 8 hours later, chris wakes up feeling AWEFUL! I woke up at 7 and felt his chest and he was on fire. Like ridiculous heat coming off his entire body, his head was pounding, stomach queezy. Oh goodness! So I go to the pharmacy and get a thermometer. Take his temp…but OH WAIT…its in CELCIUS! Run down stairs…ask joe how to convert C to F, run upstairs do the math…Chris has a 103 fever. Yay. Im feeling rather useless at the moment b/c I remember maybe 2 times in my life that I have ever had a fever. I talk to Sue, she says Ibuprofen, Tylenol, wet rags, lots of fans, sleep, and water. Oh and to not be worried unless he “starts to talk about the dancing plantains outside the window…then you have something to worry about.” Hahahaha. So yes, I was a little freaked out! I let him sleep for a few hours while I went to the market to get things for the hair school. I come back home, give him more meds, water, and toast and he starts coming back to normal. By 6 his fever was down to 37.6 (99.0 F). I know it was from the Lord b/c once we started praying as a group, immediately his fever broke! It was awesome! I was about a few more degrees to calling the US embassy and figuring out where to take him! Lol. So sometimes I overreact! Anyway, at this point (Thursday night) it has been raining and therefore, it is HUMID. I started wheezing immediately and didn’t sleep at all on Thursday night b/c my airways were halfway closed and the air was so thick I could almost see it. Friday, we pretty much slept all day until I could breathe again and Chris fully recovered! By 5pm we were WAY better! We had registration for our Art, English, Sports, Computer, and Hair classes that we will be starting next Tuesday. This took place downstairs in the kindergarten classroom. I met three of the six girls who will be in my 2 month hair school! Phueng, Hang, and Yang! Some of the kids we met on Sunday were there too, and after registration, we played volleyball in the entry way to the house! The kids love hitting a ball around! While we were waiting for kids to register, I saw that Yu (Trangs, the lady who runs the Kindergarten and lives downstairs, daughter) had her hair done by a friend at school. You know, where you make 5 boxed toward the front of the hair line, and then you make a type of pyramid using small rubberbands? Its hard to describe! Well it was great because I had a manikin downstairs and was able to teach a few girls how to do that! The more we are here, I am learning that the kids like to learn. They like to learn how to play volleyball, badminton, do simple hairstyles, news games! Its very easy to build relationships with kids. Which in turn will hopefully gain trust with the parents! Please pray that whatever we do here, no matter how big or small, God will be able to use it! That he will stir hearts and give us the words, and smiles to bring people to know Him. So anyway, after the kids went home, we have amazing vegetable stirfry with rice and toasted cashews (Thank you master chef Gabi!!!) and then went to Lucky supermarket to get a few things. On our way home we looked at CD World and got a few movies! We came home, did the dishes and decided to watch a movie. Here is the funny part! If you buy a movie from CD World it is $2 and they are VERY good, with covers and menu options, if you buy enough, they let you pick out of the free bin. So we bought 3 movies and got to pick one free one. We chose Friday Night Lights. Got home, put it in on my laptop in our room and right away we knew why it was free! Ha! It was so funny! We take the DVDs out and see that there are 2 disks. “Hmm…maybe the second disk is special features?” Chris says. Haha sure enough, about 58 minutes into the movie, it just stops! Guess it is time for the second DVD? We put the second one in and walah! It picks up where it left off! The best part is there it was literally filmed in a movie theatre, and the subtitles were in Malay and Chinese (which might I add, took up half the screen.) You could see people get up and leave the theatre! So me and Chris really enjoyed this experience! The movie ends and I see a bug on Chris’s leg! It’s a little nat like bug. I squish it and forget. A minute later, I have a bug on me…look on Chris, he has a bug. OH NO! I start freaking out and feel like they are everywhere on me. We are certain they are bed bugs b/c they are EVERYWHERE on the bed! We talk to Gabi and she recommends throwing the mattress away (We need a new one anyway b/c the springs are literally poking us, and almost every limb falls asleep during the night for some reason) and sleeping on the marble floor in the living room! Ha! So we grab some clean sheets and a clean pillow and head downstairs. We are laying down, trying to figure out how we are going to buy a new mattress in the morning and disinfect everything in the room. We start laughing at our luck and start talking about how thankful we are that God has the answers and not us! Because if it were up to us, we would be a mess! Right before we fell asleep, Gabi came downstairs and graciously offered us her twin size sleeping mat! I swear that woman is the most generous person! She literally gave us her mattress! She slept on the floor so the we could have a mattress! That is the love of the Lord right there. Most genuine, caring love! I swear, we are so lucky to be a part of such a loving and generous team. (As I write this…Joe is building me a 9 foot wide ledge/manikin station that is attached to the roof (more like a huge covered patio on the third story) so that we have something to attach the manikins to) Anyway, I will write about how much I love them another day! This morning we wake up and realize that we slept better on the twin size sleeping mat than we did on the mattress! Haha! I went with Trang this morning to go to the local market and get what we need to cook a Vietnamese meal for tonight!! So that means that today, my adventures started EARLY! Lol! We walk to the market and Trang goes to the best meat and fish venders and gets a tons of beef for 5 dollars and then we head over to the fish. This is where it gets INTERESTING!! We walk up to this big round platter on the ground with about 10 or so live fish. Trang picks the fish she wants. The lady gets the fish, gets the clever, and starts WACKING THE FISH OVER THE HEAD! Haha. Im, ya know, trying to act cool, like I am used to the sort of thing…you know. This is totally normal for me! NOT! She cuts the lips off, the starts scraping the fish with a devise that is a piece of wood with nails on it and rubs it back and forth to remove the scales. Mind you, the fish is still moving. HA! She cuts the fins, lips and gills off in a quite skillful manner. This is a piece of cake for her! She puts the fish in the bag and hands it to Trang. Trang tells me “8,800 riel.” I hand her the riel, we walk away. But…I waited to shiver and squirm until I told Chris! Ha! So, there is the beginning of my Vietnamese cooking 101. I will let you know maybe tomorrow how it all turns out! We start really cooking at 4pm today. Yay! Can’t wait!!
When I got home from the market, Chris told me that Joe looked in our room at our bed and had some GREATTTTTT NEWS!! :-) The bugs that we saw were NOT bed bugs, they were gnats that flew in through the fly wire! SO NO BED BUGS!! We might still look into buying a new mattress, but thank goodness, we do not have to throw away anything or raid the room with toxic cleaning stuff!
So, there are our most recent adventures!! I would love to hear what you think! Write back! Miss you guys!

We Made It!!
Hey everybody!!
So, we are here in the Kingdom of Cambodia!! We left on Wednesday Jan 13th and arrived 36 hours later in Cambodia! We went from DFW--> LA--> Tokyo--> Singapore--> Cambodia! We are 13 hours ahead of TX time so right now it is 4:14pm CAM, 3:15am TX! It was our first jetlag experience and woo it was an interesting few days! I barely made it to 9:00 here and woke up at 3 am! Our body clocks are pretty much adjusted now so it didnt take too long! We have officially been here 4 days and are slowly getting the swing of things! I am searching for materials and supplies for the hair school, and brainstorming how to teach the classes! We as a team will be teaching art, hair, english, computer skills, and playing sports/ teaching dance with the kids! These things will be great opportunities to really invest in the kids and get to know them! All of the people are pretty nice here and I am really falling in love with the culture here! Yes, there are a lot of social justice concerns, but I love the sense of family, people are ALWAYS around, you can talk to anyone! In fact, if you dont like people...i wouldn't suggest you come to cambodia! Lol! Its very very different than the states. Very few cars. Lots of motorbikes and tuk tuks. No real rules on the road, but everyone is quite polite and calm (unless your a foreigner!!) Almost every street has everything you need! The markets are amazing! So much stuff and so many family businesses! I dont have much time to write today but I will post some pictures! Thank you for all your prayers! Knowing we have people praying for us, and for God to move here amongst the people means more than anything! We are soo so so blessed to receive such love and support! I hope you really know that we couldn't do this with out you! God uses you in more ways than you will ever know!! :-) Miss you all bunches and want to know what is going on in your life as well, so feel free to email us and let us know how you are, and some things we can pray for!! YAY CAMBODIA!!
Hey Everybody!!
So, we are headed to Cambodia in 5 days and 12 hours! Not that we're counting or anything! :-) So our plane leaves on Wednesday at 9:40am at the DFW Airport. We will get there around 7:30am to check in, if you want to come see us off, you are welcome! Just let me know!
So, it's FINALLY happening! :-) We are so pumped and AMAZED by Gods faithfulness! We ran in to a few things that made our trip to Cambodia seem impossible! 4 weeks before we were supposed to leave for Cambodia, I was struck with some rediculous teeth pain! Once we got home to Texas, we saw a dentist and were told we needed a $1500 root canal. Then, a few days later, Chris was hit with severe tooth pain! So when it was all said and done, we needed over $3,000 in work! We still didn't have the funds in for airfare or the rest of our tuition! EEEK! That is scary! The coolest part is, you get to fully depend on the Lord in those sort of situations! We prayed and prayed and knew that God still wanted us to go to Cambodia but just wanted us to take care of these issues before we were in Cambodia and had no way of dealing with them!! So yes, I am saying our teeth pain was a blessing! Lol
So as of New Years eve (2 weeks before our date to leave) we still lacked our Airfare, dental and half of our monthly support! I was starting to believe we were crazy and should just give up...and wouldn't you believe...GOD STEPS IN! Right when it's too big for us, he shows us who our Dad is! We received enough support in 8 days to cover our airfare, dental, and 2/3 of the remainder of our tuition! PRAISE THE LORD!! Goodness, how could you have a doubt in your mind about where you are called when that sort of thing happens! I felt like it was VERY important to post this story, mainly to bring God Glory. That, after all, is why he does that! And to spoil his children of course! So be encouraged! If you ever feel like your hopes and dreams are HUGE, and sometimes too big for you, remember that it isn't you who can do it. Most of the time, God will call us to things that put us WAY out of our comfort zone, and in situations that we, ourselves cannot handle alone. That way, we lean on him and learn to have real faith, hope, love, perseverance, patience, and all of the characteristics of the spirit! So don't lose hope, trust in the one who gives hope!
So enough of my rambling! We will be overseas in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from January 13th-April 16th. While we are there, we will be updating our blog in short segments every few days! We are hoping to update with insight on what our day to day life is like, new adventures, thoughts, things God is teaching us, and how you can pray for the children and families we meet! We will need intercession from you, our supporters. We need people crying out for Gods power and presence in Phnom Penh! For people to receive dreams, visions, and words from the Lord. For God to prepare their hearts and that HE would be the reason they choose Him. Not us! We are just the hands and feet, and anything you hear about movements or house churches planted, will not be as a result of our effort, but because of the power of the Holy Spirit! Woo hoo Im getting excited just typing about it! I hope that you have the same excitement and that you realize what a part you play in Gods Mission!
We are still excepting support and are trying to get it all settled before we leave on Wednesday! We would ask that you pray and ask the Lord if He wants you to support us. He knows how he wants you to participate in His work, and He will guide you on that decision! We are still lacking about $600/month, and about $800 for tuition. We will have bills to support back in the states, and expenses for rent, utilities, travel, food, and for any ministry expenses. If you are interested in supporting us, view the info below:
